Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has returned to his position as the richest man in the world again after he overtook Telsa boss Elon Musk. The Telsa boss lost about $4.5 billion Tuesday after Tesla’s (TSLA) shares fell 2.4%, which was enough to knock him to second place on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranking.
Bezos’ net worth also fell as the broader stock market lost a bit of ground — but his loss wasn’t as extreme, only taking a hit of about $372 million. That was enough to recapture his title that he held for about three years. The index currently says Bezos is worth $191 billion compared to Musk’s $190 billion.
In January Elon Musk became the richest person in the world with a net worth of $180 million. usk’s wealth surge over the past year marks the fastest rise to the top of the rich list in history and marks a dramatic financial turnaround for the famed entrepreneur.
