Nigerian Gospel singer Tope Alabi has penned down an unreserved appreciation for her fans and everyone who stood for her during the social media brouhaha following her public criticism of Adeyinka Alaseyori’s hit song ‘Oniduromi’.
Recalls that a video where Tope Alabi was criticizing her colleague Adeyinka Alaseyori over her popular ‘Oniduro Mi eseun o’ sent social media into a frenzy and generated many reactions from different people.
According to Tope in the video, God isn’t her guarantor because He’s more than a guarantor. So naturally, this earned the ‘Angeli mi’ crooner lots of bashing, dragging, and criticisms from social media users.
A few days later, the singer issued a statement apologizing for her wrongdoing and publicly condemning the song, saying she’s sorry for externalizing a personal message in public.
Since the incident, the singer has been away from social media. However, she has returned to the photo and video sharing app, Instagram appreciating her fans for their support in the last few weeks which was a huge storm.
She wrote: APPRECIATION TO EVERYONE :
Those He saves are His delight,
Christ will hold us fast;
Precious in His holy sight,
He will hold us fast.
He’ll not let our souls be lost;
His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost,
He will hold EVERYONE of us fast.”*
I register my unreserved appreciation to you all for standing by and for me through the past week. The Lord will never leave us all in Jesus’ name. Thank you all and may the good God bless you all in Jesus’ name.
Amen. I love you all.
